Burgos Cathedral | Day 11

We got into Burgos today. There are absolutely no words to describe the cathedral here. The detail and massive nature of it took my breath away, and I couldn’t help but start crying with awe and joy - reaching this first of the three MAJOR cathedrals on the Camino de Santiago. When I came through the arch gates and saw it, it was overwhelming!

We took a lot of pictures, and did a tour of the place along with a secondary cathedral and a castle further up the hill.

Look closely at the picture of the sculptures and paintings on the ceiling inside the dome. The detail is astonishing.

There’s also a picture of our hotel room, which is right across the street from the cathedral and a beautiful room, $90 for the night! Prices for everything here are about half what they are on the French side, and the US for that matter.
