Left for another day of hiking this morning at 5:30 AM. There’s a lot of new people on the trail, I know I’ve said that before. A lot of people are coming in from what’s called the Norte Camino Santiago. It’s a hike that comes from the north of Spain and connects up with the French way.
We had a lot of uphill today, but it wasn’t too bad. Saw a lot of flowers and cows today. There’s also these funny looking buildings in front of most houses that I thought were some kind of shrines. It turns out they are used to dry things like corn and other vegetables. See pictures.
There’s a lot of mixed feelings going on regarding arriving in Santiago in two days. What kind of feelings are going to be processed and how to handle arriving someplace after walking 15 to 20 miles a day try to wrap your head around walking that much every day with a purpose of arriving at a place that you’ve never seen before.
The big question a lot of people have been asking is, are you going to do this kind of walking when you get home?
In reflecting on today’s walk, I think my mom is actually walking along with me. There have been so many roses in places that really can’t be explained.
